Next weekend in Wakefield, MA, Hank and I are going to do a 3mile fundraising walk for Paws 4 A Cure- an organization that raises money to help families pay for cancer treatments for their dogs. We are walking in memory of my friend Robyn's dog Nick, who lost his battle with bone cancer this past April. If you would like to donate to our team, or just come on down and support the cause, you can find info below. I really like the idea of this organization as the money goes right to the dog's treatments, it can really make a difference to a family who is faced with very expensive veterinary bills. They also have a cute program that gives out stuffed dog toys to dogs as they have their cancer treatments as a little bit of comfort when away from home Thanks!

Just wanted to say thank again to everyone who donated I just got this in my email from the founder:
Thank you so much for your donations. The 2nd Annual Paws 4 A Cure Canine Cancer Walk raised $10,848 toward helping pups fight cancer !!! The money will be used to put the pups through surgeries, chemo, radiation, etc... I know if the pups could type on here they would say thank you !!
How awesome is that! The walk was great, Hank lead the pack and everyone came over and asked to touch him (LOL) and take his picture- us crestie owners know how that goes The 3mile walk concluded with the most beautiful rainbow going over the lake, all the dogs up at rainbow bridge showed they were cheering us on, it was really touching. Thanks again and I encourage everyone to get involved locally, all those paws really raised a lot of money! |
