|
IABCA is the International All Breed Canine Association. This group provides those folks living in North America with a European style of dog show. The title "International Champion" is not the same as an International Championship earned in Europe, but it is as close as many folks in North American will be able to come.

These shows are longer, and slower than AKC or CKC shows. You are not judged against other dogs in the ring, but rather you are judged individually against the breed standard. You are given an individual written critique and a rating on your dog. You must have 3 of the highest ratings, V-1, under 3 judges, one of whom has to be "international" in order to earn an International Championship. Once all the dogs entered in each breed have been critiqued and rated, then they proceed exactly like a regular dog show, with WD, WB, BOW, and BOB.
There are multiple levels of Ch. titles, and for each you have to complete the exact same critique and rating process for each level you go up. |
