Well, Darcy is being returned today as has not adjusted to his new home the past month since going there. He loves his momma, but hides from the husband. We have had several communications and though they have tried, all agree is best if he comes back here. I think he will likely need an all female home? There are no males here so did not really know he would have such a difficult time there as the original meeting only indicated a bit of timidity with the husband.
So, will start anew with Darcy and he is such a sweet boy that I really hope can find the right home for him.

| Too bad Darcy has to be uprooted again, but at least he's coming back home. I've had several fosters who are fearful of men. Thank goodness my DH sees it as a challenge & tries his best to help them. Maybe an all female home would be best for sweet Darcy. I'm sure his forever home is out there. |

| Poor baby but I am glad Darcy is going to be coming back to you where he feels safe and secure until his real forever home is found. |

While I hate to hear that it didn't work out, I am glad to hear that you and his adopters have been in constant communication and he will be coming back to you.
I think it may depend. My husband too can charm the shyest or wildest dog or horse. They all end up loving him. He is incredibly patient and gentle with all and just has that natural touch which is a gift.
But like Caddi, I know the right home will be out there for him. |

Thought I would post that Darcy came in the house, sniffed about, went out to potty and seems to have never left. He even went to his most favorite poop spot. He is the same sweet loving little boy as when he left and it is good to have him here.
I have to repost him to PF and thought would share the pics I took for it.

I'm sorry it didnt work out, but like the others, I think its great that you have been communicating with the new owners and he was returned to you rather than placed elsewhere.
He looks like a real sweetheart! |

Oh boy. I have (quietly) been looking for a brother or sister for Henry, and Darcy stole my heart from way back... When I read he had been adopted my heart skipped a beat and it was bittersweet news, and now he is back! Is it a sign???
He reminds me so much of Henry, which is probably why I have such a huge crush on him
<Big Sigh>
I'm happy and relieved to hear how well he's adjusted back into your pack, almost as if he had never left. I bet he's happy and relieved, too! |
