I have to admit that I only read some pages here and there.I taught it would go on for some weeks and I was waiting for all the pages to be posted. Oh Gee was I wrong. Surprised

I also read that Davyde asked for something artistic and offer to do sommething...
NO ! I wont show it to you guys....Yet! Razz
It will be a tribute to the talent of the author of the story...

Daughter also draw a nice CC lately. As I didn't read the story can anybody tell me if her drawing looks like any of the character?

Thanks!
Josée

THE END

At least until The Curious Case of the Careless Hairless Heiress...

Oh yes please...... we need another book by this fantastic new author Very Happy

I'm so glad you told us how everyone got on after the demise of BigAl. I always want more and need to know what happened next Laughing
I would really love to see this printed up, it would make a great book even for those who don't know the characters like we do. You wrote it so well that any reader would quickly fall in love with and be able to "see" who you mean from your brilliant descriptions.
The tongue twisters were a great laugh Laughing

I put that in as a bit of a tease. I haven't yet decided if I will write another story (Benjamin is getting on a bit now)
The problem is that there are always so many dogs on this forum that I would love to turn into characters in the world of the collar.

Certainly if I did write another story I'd want to make sure I had more of an idea of what the plot was going to be before I started - I was half way through the Sapphire Collar before I even had a clue how I was going to finish it!

Well you did a great job of winging it then, as the story had a nice flow....and always kept us readers on the edge of our seats. I really enjoyed the tongue twisters too, very clever....

I still say it needs to be published. fully illustrated.

it would sell like hotcakes, and not just to the youth market.

What a wonderful surprise--and on my birthday! Thank you, Davyde. This is a perfect conclusion to the story.

I agree that this should be published. And I hope you do another one, when you're ready.

I started off essentially with just the title, and the knowledge that Charm was innocent. I thought the story might run to maybe a dozen chapters.
As it was, characters kept suggesting themselves: Niles in his squirrel spotting chair gave me an honourable, but slightly crazy, war veteran; Noid sniffing around inside his dad's latest acquisition gave me a dodgy redneck mechanic.... and so on.

Some of the characters virtually wrote themselves (I'd just type "Hello, Noid's Nearly New Motors" and the rest of the conversation would leap into my head faster than I could write it down), others gave me days of struggling (Rudy is one of my favourite characters, yet I spent ages trying to get him even close to the image in my head)

The story itself changed a few times as I wrote it. The Mayor's untrustworthy nature was established long before I decided he was Big Al, and actually before I had even decided there was a Big Al.

hehe....he's one of my favorite true life characters too. Cool

I think you did a very fine job with Rudy and all the characters, I could envision each one while reading.

Let the next one flow as this one did.....hard to improve on a proven success. Wink

Sad to see the story end but we of course knew it was inevitable

It was wonderful Davyde, just truely wonderful and I enjoyed each chapter and alway got so excited when I saw the yellow paw lit up alerting us a new one was written

I'm also very please with the epiloge and how we get to see what happened to everyone and I love that Boid stayed true to his character and didn't go "straight" after all Very Happy

Thank you for investing so much time and effort into it for us all!

Where in the world have I been ? I hated to read the last page. I have shared this 'BOOK' with so many friends who are all patiently or not waiting for the sequel. My new favorite writer...David Sedaris took a step down...and he is hard to beat. Also is better than Garrison Keillor. Since I just read pages 1,2,3,20,21,and 22 of this thread - any publishers in sight?
