|
I am the proud mom of 2 Crested girls that I adopted when they were 5 years old (best guess) and I am considering a 3rd edition to my bald little clan of kids. This time around, I was thinking of getting a puppy but am petrified to unknowingly patronize a puppy mill.
I live in Michigan and would ideally like to find someone here or in a neighboring state. I'm staying away from places that either seem to breed more than 1 type of dog or a place that has multiple litters available.
Is there a place online that lists responsible breeders? Any tips or suggestions would be much appreciated as well. Thanks. |

Hi, welcome to the forum!
It is wonderful you are wanting to find a reputabble breeder. That Is the best thing you can do for you and your new pup! Like Ace said, we do have a list of breeders who are known to health test and show their dogs. Also in the different breeder sections there are lots of stickies on what to look for in a breeder and what to stay away from.
Lots of luck on your search! |

| The American Chinese Crested Club is also a good place to look for breeder referrals in your state. |

Welcome to the forum. It is always important to do your homework to make sure yu are getting the healthiest possible baby to add to your home. Even though they are on the list make sure to ask questions, ask to see health results, ask to see mommy and any other dogs they have on the premisis, daddy might or might not be there but if daddy is there ask why they thought they would make a good mating. Make sure the breeder shows their dogs. Expect the breeder to ask you questions, maybe get in touch with your vet, meet to get to know each other etc.
A new puppy is so exciting. Good Luck. |
