I took this last night. If you listen carefully you can hear the puppies nursing.
Right now Paris and Neb have a negotiated joint custody arrangment. Paris stays with the puppies all day while i am at work, but as soon as i get home, Nebbies does potty, gets her supper then she gets to be with the puppies for the rest of the night and all night long. Paris did NOT want to be with the pups last night, so Nebbies was more than willing to take on the task.
I checked her around 10 last night and she DID have a couple of tiny drops of milk, but this morning...she has actually bagged up substantially and has quite a bit of milk.
This just has to be the best of both worlds. The pups are getting milk from two sources, they have 2 mommies to take care of them, and Nebbies has finally found her purpose.
Nebbies is 7.5 years old. She is UKC, AKC, Can, Int'l Champion, but her own breeding history was not stellar, as she produced Auto Immune issues in her puppies. We had her on a strict diet as she was getting ready to head back into the show ring for a year as a Veteran. Now we have pulled her from the show this weekend, because we feel it is better for her to stay here, and help nurse these CC puppies than it is for her to go show 1 day of a 2 days show that is out of town. |

| this is so cute and inspirational!!! What a great surrogate mom she is!! Some days I wish I had a "mom-in-waiting" to defer to... LOL!! Adorable!!! |

She's one special surrogate momma for sure! She's so good with all six of those growing puppies crawling all over her at the same time!  |
