Gwen's post on her missing camera reminded me. I would like some feedback b/c you all post some great pics. I really need a camera. I have my Mom's old dinosaur. It was sweet of her to give it to me, but there is like a 2 second delay when you push the button. I hate that! I have hundreds of shots of the ground or half a tail. I'd love to have a video camera too. What do you guys have, & what do you wish you had? |

| Right now I have the Sony H-5 and I like it well enough but I am looking into getting a DSLR and have picked out the Nikon D300 it's a semi-pro so room to grow into and has all the functions and features I am looking for! I did a quick check on the Nikon D700 (latest and greatest) but it's not much differnt than the 300 so not worth the extra dollars imo |

My new camera is a Nikon P80 and I really like it. I got it because it has a great zoom on it without having to change lenses.
I would love to have a fancier Nikon and lots of different lenses, but just couldn't afford it at this time.
Many digital cameras have movie options so you can do short movie clips. All of the digital cameras I've had so far have them. I don't have any suggestions for actual video cameras, though. |

So far it seems Nikon is the camera of choice! Hlboyz, what a good pic! I love the lighting, it's such a soft glow. I'd love to have one of those Daddy Rabbit Nikon 700 but I'm a cheap-skate. I don't want to spend that much. I'm def checking out the Nikon's tho. CrestedCrazy, your pics are always so clear. Paws, post some pics so I can see yours. ( I really just want to see your babies! ) |

| I got an Olympus SP-550UZ last year for my birthday and I love it. I'm just an amateur, but it does everything I want a camera to do. It takes great close ups of the dogs (my best photo subjects). |

I do remember your pics! The toad gave GrandCynth nightmares! Great shots! It does take really good pics. I absolutely have to get a new camera. I've been goggling all your suggestions. Thanks! |

Right now I am using a Sony H-9 which I like okay - has a tilt screen and night shooting features which aren't that necessary for most people but is what separates the H-7 if remember correctly. It was the latest thing when I got it tho and am sure they have newer neater stuff now. I really just don't know how to use the camera that well is my problem, I still need to learn it much better - gee, like in READ THE MANUAL? Instead of expecting it to just be a point and shoot! The old Nikon I had was excellent in that regard and is still my favorite camera. (and really inexpensive too!) I had a Canon A-80 last and really did not like it at all! Anti-shake feature is a MUST! And I love a zoom, but alot depends on how you are going to use it. Some are pretty bulky with the extra features and you can't just put in your pocket - which is always really nice to be able to do. My current camera is ENORMOUS compared to the previous ones.
It can be exciting and daunting trying to find the right camera! There are some photo sites - where people post pics and where they give the name of the camera too, it is super helpful when comparing a couple of models and how well they turn out of different subjects... that is how I made my final decsion last time between two models I had narrowed it down to.
Can't wait to see what you get and more pics of the kids!!! |

| Love my Nikon D40X there's no shutterlag with a digital SLR. The only negative it is bulky when travelling not like one of those pocket point & shoots. |
