|
My poor girlie ,nothing major but yeaterday she threw up bile 2 times
pooped good atre good drank good enjoyed her walk as usual so I just decided to watch her anyhoo ,this morning I am getting the kids and myself ready for school and me to head down to our office and Haley threw up bile again 3 times on the couch . I offer her water, no dice I take her outside for he regular morning walk she poops great but then threw up bile again 3 times on the walk .
She ate well last night but nothing this morning besides a treat I offered her to see how terrible she might be feeling but she ate the treat no worries .
After I dropped the kids off , I called the vet he called me right back and told me to get Pepsid AC and give her half of one today and half tomm
if she is not better by Wednesday to bring her in
I went back home at 10:30 to give her the half Pepsid AC and she no bile pukes in her crate so that was good ,I took her for a short walk to observe her better and she looked good no puking incidents so so far so good
Please I know it's minor but keep Haley in your thoughts to bounce from this bug she might have or ate something that is roughing her stomach up a bit
I am a little paranoid because she absolutely FREAKS with thunder and lightning and so with FAY approaching I really would love for her to be feeling better physically as this storm is really going to freak my girl out
Thanks!!
UPDATE!!!!!
Haley is back to her usual Diva self ...I only had to give her the Pepsid AC dose ONE day I did not have to give on Tuesday as she was fine....
Thx for your healing vibes guys!!

Aww... poor HJ! I hope she feels better soon. I will def. keep good thoughts that Fay stays away from you!! I know how it is to deal with a scaredy dog with t-storms. Not fun.
What I do that helps- not solves, but def. helps, is I wrap Sammi in a blanket, papoose style and hold her close. She calms down and stops shaking. |

Trust me... I've tried it all - from valium to Rescue remedy. When she's that afraid, not much worked. I was on the phone with Sheri (Noid's mommy) when we had a storm last week and she could hear sammi crying and then stop. I'd wrapped her up and held her tight. She ended up falling asleep during the storm! I was so happy. Rain even freaks her out. It's nice that it works, but sometimes inconvenient for me .
If she has a fav. blankie, use that. I do hope it works!! and stay safe there!! I'm so worried for all our FL friends! |

| Aww Poor Haley Jane, good that she didn't throw up again. Makes you wonder what could set it off. I feel so blessed that none of mine are bothered by thunder storms! My Lady and Tiny were terrified, and nothing I did calmed them. Hope Fay stays away! |

I found if Holly doesn't eat on time, exactly on time she will often throw up yellow bile from an empty stomach but it doesn't sound like this was the case for Haley Jane as she ate well the night before.
Hope the Pepcid calms her tummy down and she is fine again soon.
I have Krissy who is terrified of thunderstorms now since the house almost got hit a year or so ago. I usually put her in her travel crate and cover it up except for the front door so she feels safer otherwise she hides under the bed where I can reach her.
Stay safe and I hope the worst passes everyone of you in FL by. |

| Poor kiddo - am glad the pepcid seems to be working. from what my vet says - sometimes they puke and the acid upsets their digestive lining so it becomes a circle of vomiting from the acid not the actual original reason. Hope that is the case and she feels better soon - nothing worse than having a sick baby and some stresses piled ontop! How about some soothing music or television for distraction from the weather? |

awww thx guys right now we are finishing up putting up shutters, packing patio furniture in the garage ,we are all stocked up on water etc
so for now I will be wrapping up HJ during the storm for comfort as advised who ate her chicken and rice beautifully this evening for dinner and has not thrown up since 7:45 this morning and seems to be on the mend ....hopefully I am not putting the carriage before the horse here ....
you guys are awesome ...oh and DE I am wondering myself if eating off schedule is what may have caused it...I am paying attention to keeping them on an exact feeding schedule from now on it couldn't hurt even if her illness was not caused by that .I have to say I was not doing dinnertime 100% same time at all so I will do so from on . |

Poor little Haley. I'm so glad to hear she's holding her chicken and rice down.
We were just speaking about how some pups don't do well in thunderstorms and one of the girls at work had to put her boy on "doggy valium", evertime a storm hit. Not sure what the exact name of it is, but the vet prescribed it to calm her boy down during the storms and it did help.
Maybe someone else on the forum has tried it and could give some advise as to wether medication is a good option for thunderstorm attacks.

Hope Haley Jane is feeling better. I have used Pepci AC and it does work nicely. It comes in a generic now, too. Esme gets a little piece each day when she takes all her meds, on the vet's recommendation, so she doesn't get tummy upset from all the prescriptions.
Hope it's just a tummy upset. Sometimes they can get a little piece of fuzz from a toy or some bark or something from the ground and it can upset the tummy enough to cause that bile throw up until it finally gets the heck out via one end or the other.
Hugs to HJ! |
