. I didn't think spotted was too rare, in fact sooooo common. Guess it depends on what you are looking at as in where and when.

Two years ago Olivia and Bayden were the onlyt two spotted cresteds showing at the Nashville Specialty with a large entry. I can definately tell you solid is the most common.

I have a question about the little spotted babies. I know spots can get bigger as the pup ages and darker in the sun but can a warmer climate with sun year round make a pup become more solid and less spotty or is it determined by genetics and the sport will stay whatever size they were meant to no matter the climate and just be darker or lighter depending on the time of year?

The spots are genetic so I am pretty sure no matter what the dogs fills in or spots the same way no matter what the amount of sun is. I know that more spots might show up the more sun they have because they get darker, but the pigmentation is going to be the same, just depends on how much the sun darkens. In summer livi LOOKS like she has more spots, but really the smaller ones are just darker so you notice them, and in the winter they are really light and blend in with her whiteness.
