Hello . I got my first crested on Sunday and we just love him. I was looking to give him a bath in a few days but I'm not sure what type of shampoo/body wash to use. I've heard some say to use human body wash while others use specific crested shampoos....any input?
Thanks! |

| I have been using the Burt's Bees baby shampoo with good results, although the companion lotion was much too heavily scented for me, and too thick and heavy for our pup's skin. |

Thanks for the replies guys! I think I'm going to try Johnson's baby wash and see how that works. As far as pictures, I made a new post in the intro section that has a few pictures of Bentley. |

Awww, Bentley is very handsome! And so is his big pal! If you can, do ask the breeder what he or she uses on their pups particularly if they show cuz they would know what routine and products their dogs do best with. His skin looks lovely and it would be nice to keep it that way!
A very gentle shampoo I like and always have on hand is the HyLyt. It is sold at most of the pet supply places.

He is adorable! Being a true hl, you might want to try a very gentle emu oil soap (can get thru ebay or check some of those bath stores maybe). It's extremely gentle on the skin and leaves a nice bit of coverage after a bath so lotion isn't necessary. That's what we've been using for years on my thl and her skin is baby butt soft.
You don't want any kind of drying soap. |

| Hello, welcome and isn't he adorable! I think everyone has their own combination of shampoos and lotions. If it works - it works. My Sirius Li has great skin so I just use DVM Tearless shampoo on him. Maisie came with BAD skin and I have been using ZYMOX Enzymatic Shampoo on her. Smells good and does seem to be helping. I overheard Doc recommend it so I grabbed the LAST bottle. (clients have reported great results with the Zymox Medicated Antibacterial Rinse for itchy skin) You can get both at Amazon. |
