|
| I'll be picking up Carlisle's crate tomorrow. Hopeing they will have the midwest crate that I want onsale, but regadless I'll be coming home with a crate tomorrow. I really want to buy one of those nice 3 piece crate sets (cover, inner bumper and bed/pad) to dress it up and make it cozy, and I know petsmart sells them and a handful of other places online that I have come across, but they all look pretty much the same and I am pretty sure they get them from the same supplier. I am looking for home made sets preferably, and I was wondering if anybody here makes crate sets or knows of an online shop that makes them? I have looked everywhere and am just not having any luck finding unique looking sets. help? |

I have thought about scouring second hand stores and adapting a baby one to their crate. Well "I" isn't really right "I" only glue and staple , Hub would have to do the alterations because he can sew I have seen really cute baby sets for sale on kijiji too if you decide to explore this route.

I googled and saw some really cute crates $$$ but the only really neat bed sets (other thatn the plain color or the leopard print ones) I found didn't have the bumpers... That being said, you can always color coordinate a baby crib bumper with the set? I think it is Morag who uses them in her crates? Anyhow, they weren't outrageously expensive either. This are the kind I mean, I saw quite a few different prints on the various sites, but here are some:

I'm not sure how soon you are needing this. I am currently in the process of making some of these for sale, but it will most likely be another week or two before I will be ready to preview them.
I will have crate covers, along with matching beds and bumpers. |

I use a babys cot bumper and a nice pad for the bottom with a half meter of fleece as a blankie it's comfy and cheap
Not sure if this was the effect you were looking for though. |

| Ooh hlboyz those are fabulous! Very pretty, though they are a bit more money then I want to spend. But ladydaisy you are making some sets? That would be awesome! I was hoping for some home made ones. Oh and I picked up his crate today, it's the midwest 24" crate with three doors, though I really don't plan on using the back one, or the large one on the side for anything. And I was so excited it was on sale for only 60 bucks. And a bumper really isn't super important now that I have a bed in there for him. It's a nice sage green and cream one, so now I will be trying to match that with the cover I get. But he isn't coming for about another 5-6 weeks so if you do get some up or are interested in taking a comission please let me know I would love to get one hand made set. |

Yes, I think so too! Although I know you can buy them commercially, I havent seen any locally that I like. My boyfriend has bigger dogs and although he likes my little beds, he has been asking me forever to make him some beds for his dog's crates. I went over his house a couple weeks ago and noticed that he has blankets draped over all of his crates, which is what I have at the moment too. I thought why not just make matching covers with the beds he wants? So here I am off and running. |
