Whew hew Chelsey! Fingers crossed for a successful tie! And how many are you keeping - you know there's that "bred by exhibitor" section. Should be some beautiful babies there as both Bayden and Livi are so stunningly beautiful!!!
Outi and Peggy girl congratulations on your upcoming Auntie status. If there's a black nekkid one in there I'm gonna have to beg Chelsey and reason with Tramp...but somehow I think these babes are gonna have all kindsa spots. |

Oh wow!! Huge congrats! Parents to be are quite stunning so I'm sure you won't be the least bit dissapointed with the litter.
Never bred a litter but I have whelped a few on fosters/rescues. It is an amazing experience IMO.....this Dane/mystery mix I have now though put me through the ringer. Mom was uninterested (and a bit unsure I think as we guesstimate she's barely a year old ) in babies the first week so it was hard getting her to nurse and we were doing all the potty duties..and I slept on the hard floor next to the whelping box...lol They are almost 5 weeks old now and I'm just to the point where I'm getting actual sleep!!! lol
But healthy, happy puppies are soooo worth all the missed sleep..
Not to mention the oodles and oodles of puppy breath heaven!!
Can't wait to read the progress of things...and of course see the adorble puppy pictures. |

I think spots are going to be the winning combo for these kids! Although they both have alot of solids behind them... so ya never know what they could throw in there! haha! |

This might be a bit off topic...
I know any color can show, but is the prefered by most people for the ring spots? Like, are spots considered to be a bit more flashy/showy ?? |

| Spots are a bit more rare than solids. But it seems that all things come and go in waves. Some years you may hardly see no spts, and then the next there will be a lot more. I would not say spots are preferred over all, or any one combination for that matter. It is all a personal preference. Of course there are some judges that like certain colors better than others or solids or spots, but its the same with everything else. |

| Are their certain breeders that are known for specializing in a color? N'co, Escada (and now you) seem to have wonderful spotted dogs. Barefax has gorgeous black CC's. Also - is that true for puffs too? Are there certain show breeders known for beautiful puffs? |

It depends on what dogs you are breeding. Black is VERY dominant, to the point where if you breed mostly black dogs at some point that is pretty much all you are going to get. Which takes a bit of the fun outta things in the long run! LOL! I really enjoy all the different colors.
If you look at N'co. She has been breeding for literally decades. Not as many of her dogs had been spotted, until recently. That is because recently she has been breeding her male "Royal" who is spotted and has a tendency to throw spotted puppies. Some of his kids are solid but there is alot greater chance of getting spots. Kristin and I both have kids that came down from royal, so we inherited some spots.
That is alot of the reason sometimes you will see more spots than others. It depends on what ppl had bred before.
As for puffs, generally a good line has both good puffs and hls. |

Yeah, solid black was considered almost a rarity a few years ago. I didn't think spotted was too rare, in fact sooooo common. Guess it depends on what you are looking at as in where and when. |
