Hello everyone!

I'm a mom to a sweet little powderpuff named Lucy! Seems like forever now that her right eye is irritated. I've had her see the vet 3 times - each time he says pink eye, tries a new drop, seems to get better but always comes back. Her tear staining is also worse on this eye. It doesn't seem to bother her much but it concerns me greatly. I'm going to try to attach a photo... I'm new here so I haven't quite figured my way around! :)

You should see a specialist right away.  A member on here had her dog's eye condition misdiagnosed and he needed to have his removed. Three trips saying pink eye sounds wrong imo.

Thank you! She's such a good girl! Apparently our only ophthalmologist here in Southern Ontario has a waiting list of a couple months?

I'm no vet, but looking at the picture, I don't immediately see any redness to the eyes, just under them where the staining it. It looks like she has watery eyes, which may indicate an ingrown eyelash or eyelids that slightly turn in. Vespa has one eye in which the eyelid verrrrry slightly turns in but it causes excessive tearing which caused very terrible staining. She always has watery eyes, and I wipe them constantly. The bad one seems to run more when she is chewing on something or doing a lot of activity. The vet told me that she could have surgery but it is unnecessary since it is not doing any damage to the eye. I agree with a trip to a specialist if you can.

Happy pup

In this picture you can see on the white side of her face how bad the stains get. I have been able to manage them by clipping close to her eye and wiping it every day.

Thank you Snortlepup! Vespa is so very cute! I think you may be onto something with Lucy... The eye itself never looks irritated, it's just the outer lids. I sometimes also think it's allergies... Maybe I should get some testing done.
